June Employee of the Month

Congratulations, Izy, on being nominated for June’s employee of the month! Izy was hired just last year. She started out in the maintenance department and quickly moved to Kids Club. She is also very involved in our youth programs, such as Friday Night Out and birthday parties. Izy recently started working at the front desk where she has quickly grown to be a very important and reliable part of our staff!

Izy is a northwest local! She has lived here her whole life and graduated from Meridian High school in 2018. Her favorite sport is volleyball–she has played for 8 years including one at WCC. Izy is currently attending Whatcom Community College, where she hopes to finish up her prerequisites and then transfer to Bellingham Technical College for the Dental Hygiene Program.

When Izy isn’t at school or working she likes to visit Wisconsin, Tennessee, and Georgia with her family. You can also find Izy enjoying anything outdoors. She enjoys hiking, camping, fishing, and hunting.

The thing that Izy enjoys most about working at BAC is all the kids she works with and watching them grow up! Izy has proven to be reliable, mature and just a great employee to have on our staff! Thank you, Izy, for all the hard work you do and for caring about our young members!

May Employee of the Month

Congratulations, Megan, on being May’s employee of the month. Megan started working the front desk in August 2018. Since then, Megan has worked all hours of the day. You will most likely see her working early mornings and well into the evenings.

Megan grew up in Vancouver, Washington and then made her way to Castle Rock. She participated in competitive gymnastics for 10 years and also played volleyball while in high school. She has been in Bellingham since August, attending Western Washington University full-time. Megan is majoring in Marketing but also hopes to experience becoming a real estate agent as well.

When Megan isn’t at school or working at the club she likes to visit her family and her precious dog Teddy on the weekends and whenever she can. One of her favorite places to travel to is California to see her best friend!

Megan has proven time and time again how reliable she is. She is the definition of what a team player is— always willing to help out and lend a hand when needed. Thank yo, Megan for everything you do!

April Employee of the Month

Brian PorterWe are both pleased and proud to announce Brian Porter as April’s Employee of the Month. Brian has been at BAC since February of 1993. That’s 26 years! In that time he has done just about everything there is to do here. Brian is truly the heart and soul of BAC. There is not an aspect of the club that doesn’t benefit from his care and expertise as BAC’s Operations Manager.

Brian always has what is best for BAC at the forefront of what he does here. He takes care of all the repairs and maintenance for both buildings and runs all the work for our annual shutdowns. Brian oversees the court sports schedule and events as well as well as all the Racquetball Tournaments. He is a Jack of all trades: From running towels, to adjusting pool and spa chemicals, repairs and maintenance, to standing in at the Front Desk, he truly does it all.

Brian brings to BAC great integrity and energy. Away from the club, he is very proud of his family, including his wife Regis, children and grandchildren. Brian spends spare time away from the club either golfing or in Eastern Washington exploring the terrain on his quads. Thanks Brian for all you do for BAC!

March Employee of the Month

Isabella Foos has been working front desk at BAC since September 2018. She is a sophomore at Western Washington University. Bella is majoring in kinesiology and hopes to become an athletic Trainer when she finishes her degree. When she isn’t busy in class or at work, Bella runs for the Western Track & Field team. She specializes in sprints! Bella hails from Olympia, Washington, where she is the oldest of 4 girls in her family. She also misses her dog, Buddy, who waits for her to visit on weekends and school breaks.

When Bella’s schedule isn’t filled with sports, school, and work, you can find her enjoying hiking the trails around town and hanging out with friends. Bella has become an instrumental part of the front desk staff. She works opening and closing shifts, so next time you see her in the early mornings or late nights give her a huge thanks for being here!

Thank you, Bella, for being reliable, dependable and just overall a great presence at the club! We appreciate all the great work you do!
