Christine Engelfried began her love of dance at the age of 3. After graduating from Loyola Marymount University with a double major in dance and communication studies, her love of movement continues to inform her life through teaching, performing, and processing life and the human experience.
Christine enjoys creating a welcoming, supportive atmosphere for all of her students where they can experience the joy of movement and savor the gift of this life. She loves to hold space for people to connect to their body, breath, and mind and allow people to discover an inner play, where they can dance, sweat & LIVE.
In addition to teaching dance, she is a certified yoga teacher at the 500-hour level with YogaWorks, a certified Restorative Yoga Teacher, and an Urban Zen Integrative Therapist completing clinical hours with UCLA patients in five modalities of treatment: yoga therapy (restorative poses, breath awareness, in-bed movement, and guided meditation), Reiki, essential oil therapy, nutrition, and contemplative care.
She also has the distinct honor of being a Founding Guide for KINRGY, a wellness platform created by Emmy® award-winning dancer and artist Julianne Hough to transform your body, mind, and energy through innovative dance cardio, fitness, and meditation classes.
Christine and her family (her husband, 3-year-old, and two pups) are recent transplants from Los Angeles to Bellingham. She is honored to be part of this beautiful community and excited to share in the ‘BAC is Bellingham’ community workshop series.

Fred Engelfried is a NASM-certified personal trainer, Oxygen Advantage Functional Breathing Instructor, and co-founder of Onestyle. He worked for over 15 years in Los Angeles with a broad range of clientele from athletes, celebrities, models, pre and post-natal mothers, and special needs cases such as rheumatoid arthritis, autism, and multiple sclerosis.
Fred has a personal connection with rehabilitating and reconditioning the body – having experienced two accidents and managing chronic pain for decades. Influenced by Applied Functional Science, DNS, and PRI, he approaches the body with careful respect for joint alignment, dynamic posture, and structural integrity. Through Onestyle, he enhances the biochemistry, biomechanics, and cadence of breathing while integrating conscious movement and guiding clients to listen deeply to their body’s intelligence.
His style of training is best illustrated by one of his clients:
“There is no one word that describes Fred Engelfried. As a trainer, he is focused, hard-working, and creative, and offers rich knowledge of both form and function, physiology and fitness; as a person, Fred is humble, educated, sensitive, and intelligent, and he carries within him a deep integrity and abiding warmth that create true trust and partnership with his clients.” – Cara D.
Fred Engelfried lives in Bellingham with his wife, 3-year-old, and two dogs. They recently moved here from California and greatly appreciate all that Bellingham has to offer. When not training or fixing up their house, Fred enjoys Nordic skate skiing, hiking, and growing food.
As a former National Latin Dance champion in Colombia, Jovanny brings energy, expertise, and over seventeen years of professional experience ranging from group exercise, personal training, and dance to Bellingham. His background includes a specialization in dance technique, a BA in Sports Science and Recreation, and he is currently completing a Master’s degree in Sports Training and Management. His passions include Danzika, Bachata, HIIT training, Zumba, and Kickboxing.
Michal feels a very strong spiritual connection to Yoga, which has guided her journey in life and naturally led her to the path of teaching. She is a highly skilled professional, registered with Yoga Alliance (E-RYT 500, YACEP) and draws on 20 years of experience in teaching Yoga and a background in relaxation techniques, energy healing, and body psychotherapy.
Michal has a passion for creating a non-judgmental and open space for body-awareness, wellness, and acceptance of our multi-faceted nature – mind, body and soul. Every class she offers has a different focus and includes breath awareness, stretching, core-strengthening, and modifications for different levels and injuries. Her intention in teaching is to help practitioners to see themselves with compassion and patience, and to leave class feeling revived, relaxed, freer and at ease.
In addition to teaching Yoga at BAC for many years, Michal instructs Yoga for academic credits at Whatcom Community College as adjunct faculty, and at the FireHouse Arts & Events Center in Fairhaven. She is also a mom and a caregiver.
